I recently decided that it was silly to run the dishwasher twice when Emma and I are the only one dirtying dishes during the day. So now each morning I fill the sink with hot soapy water and Emma and I do the washing up together. She puts on an apron or two since and does an amazingly good job washing. She's not just playing in the water anymore. She is especially good at bottles since she can stick her little hand right inside. Singing is always an important part of washing. At least it is for Emma. It's one of my favorite times of the day. There is nothing quite like working with my darling girl.
Yesterday I'd finished up, but she wanted to play in the water a little. When I turned I saw this sweet picture of what Emma looks like at the sink. I love how she is standing on tip toe to get in just the right position to reach the water. The pink apron was my grandmothers. It has her name written on the inside. It must have been the one she took to church functions and funerals. I love seeing Emma wear it.
